I am ready to bowl it off, how long does one game take to complete?

One game of bowling at Zone Bowling lasts around 45 minutes to 1 hour for 5 to 6 people. Plenty of time to score a perfect 300. To be more specific, it translates to each game lasting approximately 10 minutes per person on the lane

Awesome, but how many people per lane?

6 people or less per lane. If you have more people playing and you are keen to have lanes next to each other, book online here. For all bookings of over 6 people, you will automatically be given 2 side by side lanes.

I wore thongs, and forgot my socks, do you sell socks in venue?

Yes we do, all our venues have socks for sale. Available in men’s, women’s and kids sizes. One pair costs $9.90.

What is the deal with shoes, can't I just wear my own?

Bowling shoes are specially made as they allow customers to "slide" when Bowling, helping you hit that strike. It is important that these shoes are worn at all times as the incorrect footwear is a potential safety risk and can damage the approach to the lanes. 

What is our size range for shoes?

We range from Toddlers size 6 up to Men’s size 16
Men's bowling shoe sizes are the same as their normal shoes.
Women's bowling shoe sizes are two sizes below their normal shoe size. Example a ladies size 8 is a bowling size 6.
Kid's shoe sizes are the same as their normal shoes.
Unfortunately, there are no half sizes.

Laser Tag FAQs

How long does a game of Laser Tag last?

One game of Laser Tag lasts around 20 minutes (this includes briefing and de-briefing).

Is there a minimum age for Laser Tag?

For safety reasons, the minimum age for children in our laser arenas is 6 years old. A party for a child turning 5 years old CANNOT be for Laser Tag.

Do I need to wear enclosed shoes?

For safety reasons, it is recommended that guests wear enclosed shoes while playing Laser Tag. If you are not wearing appropriate footwear we can provide bowling shoes for guests to wear.

Arcade Games FAQs

How do I play?

To play on any of our awesome arcade machines, you will need a Powercard! This Powercard can be used at Kingpin, Timezone and Zone Bowling, meaning you have access to hundreds more games and can shop in any prize redemption store! All you need to do is TAP on your game and PLAY! 

How do I get a Powercard?

You can pick up a Powercard at any Kingpin, Zone Bowling or Timezone, when you buy your first lot of arcade credit.

How much is arcade credit?

It's up to you. You can load any amount of credit onto your Powercard, but the larger the amount you recharge the more bonus bucks you will receive.

Can I split a reload of $100 across more than one card?

No. Each purchase of arcade credit must be applied to one card.

Will my points & credit transfer across to Timezone?

Yes, they will! We want you to still be in the running to collect enough tickets to win that plushie you’ve been saving up for!

Which venues have laser tag?

Laser Tag is only available at select Zone Bowling venues. Find a laser tag venue near you.

Where do we eat?

As part of your booking, you will have 45 minutes of space for cake cutting and food in a Zone Bowling Party Room (select venues only). Please enquire when booking your party with us.

What time should I arrive for the party?

We request that you and your guests arrive at least 15 minutes prior to your party start time. This will ensure that your party experience begins on time and that none of your guests miss out on any of the fun! All parties at Zone Bowling commence on the hour.

What packages are available?

Our packages vary by venue. Explore our packages available at Zone Bowling and select your nearest venue to see what awesome party package is on offer!

What is the minimum number of guests for a birthday party booking?

There is a minimum 10 guests to enjoy the full experience of a birthday party with Zone Bowling. This includes the party guest.

What if I need to cancel or make changes to my party?

If for any reason you need to make an amendment to your party, please get in touch with us by phone or email. If you need to cancel your party, we ask that you inform us at least three business days prior to the party to receive a full refund of your deposit.

What does the party host do?

Our party hosts are there to organise all the fun and entertain the guests during the party. While the party hosts will be with the kids for the duration of their party to guide activities, we recommend that parents, guardians or carers stay close by to supervise for the duration of the party.

What does a 'carer' mean?

A carer is a parent, guardian or adult responsible for supervising the party children and a touch point for Zone Bowling. We recommend that carers are present for the duration of your party. Carers are there to ensure the kids are all in attendance during each activity, escort the kids to the bathroom and ensure they are behaving appropriately in the venue. If there is a problem the Party Host will inform the carers, so it is necessary to remain in the venue to be able to supervise the party.

How long is a birthday party at Zone Bowling?

Depending on the party package you have chosen, Zone Bowling parties are approximately 2.5 hours from start to finish.

Do you provide bowling socks?

Bowling socks are not provided, so please remember to remind your guests to bring their own pair of socks. Alternatively, you can purchase a pair of socks in venue.

Do we need to stay with the party?

We ask that you organise a parent or carer to be available for the duration of your party as a touch point for our hosts – this could be you, your partner, a family member, or friend (anyone attending the party to help supervise the kids).

Do I need to confirm my booking?

Someone from Zone Bowling will call you the Wednesday prior to your party at the latest to confirm:

  • The final number of guests attending
  • Any special dietary requirements (e.g. for food intolerances)
  • Whether you’d like to order a cake or any additional food platters
  • Whether you require any additional lanes booked for older siblings or adults attending

For the best party experience for your guests, we recommend Zone Bowling parties for kids aged 5 and above.

Can Zone Bowling organise party invitations?

Party invitations are available! Download your digital birthday invitations to print at home or head into your selected Zone Bowling venue to collect some for your upcoming party.

Can I/we bring my/our own food?

You are permitted to bring birthday cakes, but otherwise outside food is not allowed. Each of the birthday packages includes food.

Can I change the food I ordered for the party?

Food platters ordered can be changed up to 72 hours before the party. Beyond this, no changes can be made.

Can I bring my own birthday cake?

You are welcome to bring your own birthday cake! Please note that most venues offer cake storage, but varies per venue and you should check with your local Zone Bowling venue.

You can also purchase a cake from our party add-ons.

Can I book out the laser tag area?

Laser Tag cannot be exclusively booked out unless your group fills the arena capacity. If you party does not fulfill the arena capacity, other guests may be playing in the arena at the same time.

Are there any restrictions for laser tag?

For safety reasons the following restrictions apply:

  • You must be at least 110cm tall and at least 6 years old to play.
  • All players must be wearing enclosed shoes and must be fully clothed.
  • Whilst inside the maze, please do not run, do not climb, do not jump, no physical contact, and no offensive language.
  • You will not be permitted to play if you:
    • are prone to seizures or epileptic fits
    • are pregnant
    • are claustrophobic
    • have a heart condition or are prone to motion sickness or dizziness
    • appear to be intoxicated.
  • Management reserves the right to refuse entry to patrons at any time.

Are there any age or height restrictions for bumper cars?

Yes - no children under 4 years of age are permitted and you must be at least 112cm to ride.

Group Events FAQs

Events & Functions FAQs

How long is an average event?

Events are typically 2-2.5 hours long. That allows plenty of time for arrivals, getting shoes and set up on the lane and of course eating and drinking.  If you have a large guest count or would like to host a tournament style event, we suggest hosting a 3 hour event.  However, if a 1 game package has been chosen, the event will take 1-1.5 hours.

How long does a game of bowling last?

One game of bowling lasts around 45 minutes to 1 hour with 5-6 people per lane.

How long does a game of laser tag last?

One game of laser lasts around 20 minutes, this includes briefing and de-briefing.

How many people are required for packages?

Group packages are available to groups of 15 people or more.  If your group is under 15 people, please contact us and we can suggest alternate options available.

Do you do a better rate for our large group?

Group packages are already at a greatly reduced rate as they are offered to groups of 15 people or more only.

Who is my contact of the day of my event?

Once you arrive in centre your host will be your main point of contact for the entirety of your event. Our managers will oversee the operation of your event and are available to facilitate any onsite needs you may have.

How far in advance do I need to book my event?

We often receive group bookings 4-8 weeks in advance, and 12 – 24 weeks for peak season events. However, we will always do our best try to accommodate your event at short notice.

How early should I arrive for my event?

We suggest that you arrive around 10-15 minutes prior to your event.  Your lanes will be ready at the time your event is scheduled to begin.

What happens if I am running late for my booking?

Please contact us if you are running late as we prepare and start your lanes and food requirements according to your scheduled times on your event confirmation. However, we may be able to extend your lanes dependent upon the lane availability at the time your event ends.

Will our lanes be together?

Yes, when you confirm your event, consecutive lanes are booked for your group.

Can I book for an adults and kids package together?

Of course. If you are expecting a mix of adults and children at your event, it makes perfect sense that everyone can be included in the fun. Please speak with your Events Specialist to discuss the best options available for your group.

How do I make payment?

Payments may be made using any major credit card, BPAY or cash.  By signing the event confirmation, the client irrevocably confirms liability for payment to be made for all amounts due to Zone Bowling in connection with the event.

In the event that the client wishes to pay by BPAY, please refer to your invoice for the relevant biller code and customer reference number.

Please send a copy of the remittance advice to the accounts team via acct_receivable@teeg.com as well as to your Zone Bowling Event Specialist so that the payment can be matched to the event.

Do we have to pay a deposit and how much is it?

A deposit equal to 50% of the estimated amount due to Zone Bowling in respect of the event must be paid at the time that the event confirmation is returned.

When is final payment due?

At least five (5) working days prior to the date of the event, the client must pay the balance of the amount due to Zone Bowling in respect of the event. The amount of the final payment will be the greater of:

  • The amount calculated with reference to the final numbers notified to Zone Bowling; and
  • The minimum spend (if any) identified in the event details section of this event confirmation, less the deposit paid by the client.

What if I need to cancel my event date?

If the event is cancelled by notice in writing received by Zone Bowling:

  • More than twenty-eight (28) days prior to the proposed event date, the deposit will be refunded in full;
  • Within five (5) to twenty-eight (28) days prior to the proposed event date, the deposit will be forfeited to Zone Bowling; or
  • Within zero (0) to four (4) days prior to the proposed event date, the deposit will be forfeited in full and the client will be liable to pay the balance of the estimated value of the event to Zone Bowling. Please note: due to business demands we do not allow events to be postponed once deposit has been paid.

When do I provide my final number of guests?

The client must confirm the final number of guests that will be attending the event at least five (5) working days prior to the date of the event. If the client fails to do so, any payments due to Zone Bowling will be based on the number of guests specified in this event confirmation.

What are your prices?

All prices are current at the time of the quotation and may be subject to revision prior to receipt of a signed event confirmation. Prices are inclusive of the applicable goods and services tax.

Are we able to provide our own signage and decorations?

The display of banners, signs, labels, decorations or the like must be first approved by centre management and as such must not be nailed, screwed, glued, stapled or similarly adhered to any part of the bowling centre property.

Can I bring by own food and drinks to centre?

No food and beverage of any kind is permitted to be brought into the bowling centre.

Does Zone Bowling cater for all dietary requirements?

Should any of the client's guests have specific dietary requirements, Zone Bowling will use its best endeavours to accommodate them. The client is required to advise its Zone Bowling event coordinator of any specific dietary requirements at least 5 working days prior to the date of the event. Does Zone Bowling have insurance to cover our property at our event?

We accept no responsibility or liability for loss or damage to property brought into the bowling centre and we suggest the client seek their own insurance to cover such an event.

What happens if we damage Zone Bowling property?

Loss or damage caused by the company or group, including its guests and contractors, to any part of the bowling centre or its equipment will be the responsibility of the company or group.

What is Zone Bowling's security policy?

Centre management reserves the right to exclude or eject any objectionable persons from the bowling centre. Security guards can be provided if your function requires them for an additional fee.

Does Zone Bowling provide the supervision of children?

Centre management will take all reasonable care but will not accept responsibility for the supervision and well-being of a minor.

Can Zone Bowling provide me with a risk assessment for our event?

We can email or post a risk assessment at your request.

What are Zone Bowling's opening hours?

Most centres open at 10am and close at 10pm.  These times can vary by centre and day. Please confirm times with your Events Specialist.

What deals do you have available?

I booked online, but never received an email confirmation, why?

If you didn’t receive a confirmation email here are some reasons why:

  • The email supplied could have been entered incorrectly
  • It could have ended up in your junk email, have a quick look to double-check
  • Did you pay with PayPal? All receipts are sent to the email address linked to your PayPal account, or the email account that PayPal supplies.
  • The payment may not have been processed.

No outside food and beverage of any kind is permitted to be brought into the bowling centre.

Frequently Asked Questions about Gift Cards

How many times can I use my gift card?

Gift cards can be used an indefinite number of times. It's based upon the value of the card so as long as

there's value on the card, it can still be used. 

Do Zone Bowling gift cards expire?

Zone Bowling gift cards are valid for three years from the date of purchase. You can check the expiry date of your gift card on our gift card portal.

What if my gift card is lost or stolen?

Zone Bowling gift cards should be treated like cash. Defaced, mutilated, altered, lost or

stolen cards will not be replaced, refunded or redeemed. 

How do I redeem my gift card?

E-gift cards and physical gift cards can be redeemed in Timezone, Kingpin and Zone Bowling venues across Australia. Find your preferred venue and book online or contact us on 1300 368 067 and use your gift card as the payment method once in the venue.

What is the difference between e-gift cards and physical gift cards?

Physical gift cards are delivered to your chosen postal address within 7 – 10 business days (subject to Australia Post schedules). A $3.00 standard delivery fee applies to every delivery address.

E-gift cards/digital gift cards allow you to avoid postage costs and delivery times! E-gift cards are received via email to your chosen email address and can be activated 24 hours after purchasing.

How do I check the balance on a gift card?

You can easily check the current balance on your gift card via our gift card portal or by contacting us on 1300 554 268 for more information or if you have any queries.

Can I use my gift card for online bookings including parties?

Zone Bowling E-gift cards can be used to pay for online social bookings. Birthday Party deposits cannot be

transacted with Gift Cards but can certainly be used to pay the final balance.

What is the minimum & maximum purchase limit for Zone Bowling gift cards?

A minimum of $20 and a maximum of $500 can be loaded onto each gift card to a maximum order

value of $2,500 excluding postage.

How do I load up a gift card I picked up in venue?

To load up the gift card you got in venue, head to our Grab and Go gift card portal
